Geoff - are you OK for this(?) Wednesday? Can anyone give me a lift please?
Been doing a bit of googling this afternoon. Has anyone come across any
software that will turn your PC into an answering machine, but will also
allow what is termed a voice form to be set up.
A voice form is where you are asked to provide a series of set details ie
for an answering machine you would have the following type of questions:
After the tome please say your name
Please enter the number you wish to be contacted on followed by *
I am sure that you have all come across this type of thing before. I have
found 2 bendors that do this type of thing but only at a corporate level and
not for "home use". I know there are various managed solutions but I don't
want to go there.
This then leads onto a second arena whereby once you have the form completed
it is then passed to voice recognition software which can then translate it
into a format so that it could be added to, for instance, a database.
As you have probably guessed I have a very particular application in mind.
This is to set up a PC so that people could dial into it and leave messages
regarding late and cancelled train services. This would then get compiled
into a database, and printed reports got from it.
Any comments appreciated even those to totally "dis" it.
Ian
