What are your print to file options?
I know before v2 of OOo came out with its pdf button I could still
generate pdf output quite easily.
Now I'd never heard of this but another quicky-wiki and I discovered
CUPS-PDF on the "list of PDF software" page.
You can set it up as a virtual printer so that any of your apps can
print to pdf, including oOOo[1]
http://packages.debian.org/stable/graphics/cups-pdf
is probably the link you are most interested in (ie it exists for Stable
and should be apt-gettable)
Or just use any recent live CD with OOo v2.
Not neat enough for doing frequently, but usable for one-offs.
