Bob,

In regard to Silverlight support, consider using pipelight. If available in LMDEs repositories you'll be best to use apt to install. I can't give you an exact command due to not knowing but it's the usual drill:

sudo apt update (refresh local repository database)
sudo apt upgrade (upgrade system to latest available versions of packages)
sudo apt install <package-name> (to install available packages)

though in doing further research, WideVine (as mentioned - a browser plugin to provide DRM support) will probably be already installed.

Perhaps some choice use of Vim or nano to add an external repository if required.
