Just out of interest, and if you don't mind my asking, what is your kernel 
project? (apologies if it's already been mentioned on list and I have 
missed it)

I'm interested in kernel related development myself. (NB. interested in,
as opposed to capable of, or experienced at) My experience so far amounts
only to largely unsuccessful debugging of various driver bugs.
