Hello Martin
If you want to restore the XP boot-up then you will need your XP
install CD (if Bill Gates has let you have one.)
Boot up from this and select r (for recovery) when you get your first
menu.

After various set-up files have been loaded you'll be given the option
of entering the XP recovery consol. Once inside you can type Help to get
a command listing.
Fixmbr is the command you want and it takes options but with just two
partitions as you say above, then the default is good enough.

Enter fixmbr and then you will get a prompt saying something like
non-standard file or something similar. Accept the prompt and the XP
boot-up will be restored, type EXIT to reboot and hopefully LILO has
gone and you are left with a straight boot into XP from the hard drive,
and you can either carry on using a boot floppy for Suse or having
another go at using LILO or Grub.
