Which laws?

Is this RIP?  In which case are you sure they need that level of logging
(i.e. packet logging basically)?

I thought they needed perhaps to be able to intercept the IP stream on
production of a warrant and need to keep logs of say emails etc but
certainly not packets.  It would be crippling.

Besides where would you stop?  The neighbourhood?  The town?  The
county?  All of NTL in the UK?  You're still crowding /their/ cable(s).
