[Nottingham] request for help with broadband ntl

If any one can help me with this I'll be very grateful. I have not been 
able to get ntl broadband since the Internet problems over the weekend.

By now the broadband works with windows but no longer with linux (I am 
having to live in a hellish twighlight existence of windows....)

I am using SuSE 8.1; the braodband connection does not appear to be 
picked up at  boot time (no references to dhcp or eth0 in the boot 
messages). The only thing I did was to try to reactivate my dialup 
 modems under YaST. Originally the broadband was connected by using YaST 
to configure the ethernet card (no problems at he time)
