I have already taken a look at their site, and the Sheffield LUG as well and 
both seem to hold fairly formal meetings 4 or 5 times a year.

I really prefer less formal beer and chat type meetings which you guys seem 
to more into as well. I've never been a member of a LUG, but in London I 
made some good friends and learned a lot from being a member of a PHP users 
group.
