Que ?  Full licensed versions ?  Do they need activation ?

I've had MSDN subs copies of XP generation OSes - they needed activation.  
Much to the annoyance of our tech support people who wanted more than
two weeks to play with Windows 2003 Servers for training/evaluation. :-)  
VS.Net doesn't need activation at all.  I imagine that the XP OSes will
to stop naughty students pirating them.
