Why didn't you install woody with a 2.4 kernel if that was what you
wanted though?
You read the installation guide[0] before installing of course so you knew
about the flavours[1] right?
You won't get the most out of any new distribution if you try it for a
short period of time and then junk it like anything else really.
Also throw away threats like you'll go back to RH8 won't perhaps elicit
the response you want. After all you're free to use whatever
distro/OS/editor you like.
