(For UK nuclear plant, there's the 'modern' PC-based computer stuff that 
monitors and logs all operations and visually instructs what the 
operators should do. A Human operator then uses discretion as to whether 
to manually adjust the old mechanical controls. There's also multiple 
'fail-safes' that are simple mechanics or electrics. Usually works well...)
