As I've recently relented and installed on my desktop
Linux I would *not* touch the test core 2 of fedora,
it's takes me back to days of running testing on a
debian desktop I had ;) ...

If you like redhat-style linux a good alternative (and
free) is mandrake. I've got mandrake community 10
(http://www.mandrakesoft.com/products/10/community)
installed and it seems to be working great, there
doesn't seem to be any UK mirrors but I found russia a
good/fast place for mirrors.

If your used to redhat-style Linux then I'd stick with
that unless you have the free time to learn the subtle
differences between distro's.
