[Nottingham] strange problem with apache webserver

hi, i dunno if im being stupid but:

ive had an apache webserver up and running for a few weeks and havnt had too 
many problems with it....now though i have a very strange one.

I cant access http://ah.homelinux.com/~monkey/buttons/  (a folder in one of my 
hostee's websites.

the permissions are set correctly
( drwxr-xr-x    2 monkey   monkey       4096 Feb 14 23:12 buttons/ ) 

and apache recognises the gif images (Which are all chmod'ed correctly)
( -rwxr-xr-x    1 monkey   monkey       4151 Feb 11 17:41 Churchoff.gif )


if it helps i cant see any of the folders in any account 
~/dalkus/public_html/temp/ dosnt work either.

http://ah.homelinux.com/~monkey   works and thats got the same permissions


whats even more strange (to me at least) is that a friend, and two of his 
friends, can see it fine, but another friend in another country (aswell as 
myself) cant.

im confused, any ideas anyone?
