Hi venerable Linux people,
I have been given the job of re-implementing the phone
and internet connections for the Akshobya Buddhist
Centre, in Nottingham.
They need a fairly good internet connection and about
three simultaneous phone lines.
They have a really over expensive setup at the mo the
details of which I won't go into, it's messy.
The good news is that they have been having so many
problems with outlook and MS stuff generally that I
have already successfully converted them to Mozilla
and Open Office, and am now working on their OS
problem....
I was thinking about maybe renting a line with some
bandwidth and using one of their PC's to manage the
extensions. (they only need one incoming phone number,
after that an extension number would do)
Thought I'd ask if anyone had any useful advice about
this.
Trouble is, I can't see the likes of BT or NTL helping
out with my cost cutting plans - even though they will
probably be the ones renting us the line. Akshobya
Centre is a charity and not rich.
So, any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony.
