When I hit LAN Browser (which is what appears in the left hand screen of 
Konqueror), a message box appears saying ''Protocol not supported'.

That leads to Konqueror trying to load a url at 
http://navigation.realnames.com - presumably it's looking for the IP 
address on the web rather than the lan.

The Konqueror version is 3.0.3 - is that relevant?
