I'm not entirely sure I'm getting all of what you're saying so I may
have missed something. Having said that, I do the same thing with one
of my machines. I start the machine and then log in via ssh and start
my vnc session. This doesn't avoid logging on in its entirety, but
there is no need for a keyboard/mouse as long as your network settings
are correct and ssh starts.

Is that any good?
