I have a problem!
This afternoon, my printer was printing. I restarted the machine (simply
because I was moving the box around and didn't want to risk losing power),
and now I can't print anything.
CUPS (via Mandriva Control Centre) shows the printer as disabled. If I (as
root) try to enable it I get the message 'enable: Operation failed:
client-error-forbidden'.
Using the CUPS web interface, the prineter reports as:
"Unable to open USB device "usb://EPSON/Stylus%20Photo%20RX620": No such
device"
Yet /dev/usb/lp0 exists.
The printer is switched on and plugged in - it incorproates a card reader,
which is responding quite happily to the PC.
If I switch it off, then back on again, /var/log/messages reports:

..all of which looks quite normal.
If I try to remove the printer using MCC, it disappears from the list of
printers on the current machine - but turns up in the list connected to other
machines in the network, though without a network address. Trying to
reinstate it leads to a GUI message that the configuration of the printer
failed - a message similar to the one above (client-error-forbidden) appears
in the console.
Now where do I go?
I have document which needs printing tonight, and it's beginning to look as
though I'll have to go bac to a Windows installation to manage it!
