Hi Hazel,

Sounds like your window manager (compiz) has crashed. Your best bet is
to try SuSe's user forums and mailing lists. Check your logs for error
messages from the X server (in /var/log/Xorg.0.log, on Fedora Core but
probably something similar under your distro).

My wild guess is that if you haven't fiddled around and inadvertently
changed something then some distro update (kernel, gnome, X, glibc) may
have caused the problem.
