One brief hot part of the discussion was that of a brief
comparison/complaint of bewildering GUIs. Briefly noted were:

Blender
GIMP
Openoffice(?)

vs their proprietary counterparts.


Is OpenSource by it's very nature "Geekie" due to it being written by
"Geeks" for "Geeks"?

What GUIs are there out there that are truly good?

Anyone with real-world experiences in this area?

Have we really learnt nothing since the futuristic days of the 1970's at
Xerox Palo Alto and the first versions of The Mouse and Windows?


(And then came a different Windows in the 1990's... :-( )

Any thoughts?
