I've just been looking at gcalcli - a command line interface to a Google 
Calendar.   So far I've just used it (and a bit of sed-ing) to get my next 
few appointments displayed in a Superkaramba theme, but it does supposedly 
have the ability to add things to a Google Calendar as well.
