[Nottingham] ubuntu 8:10 - the 'yawn' version

I have also recently installed Ubuntu 8.10 on a Dell XPS M1530 which i am
having a few problems with, i have noticed my hard drive clicking which it
has never done before and didnt when Windows vista was installed. does
anyone have any idea what could be wrong?
