[Nottingham] Connecting router to Virgin/NTL cable

NTL limit you to two 'new' MACs per some time limit. If you've tried a
third device then you may find yourself locked out for an hour or
whatever the timeout is.

Your new wireless router must have NAT (and DHCP) enabled.

It should just simply be plug 'n' play.

Turn on the cable modem first, then the router to see if that helps.

Last shot is that if you still have one of those very old big silver
"ntl home" modems, you may need to ring in to Virgin to get it replaced
for one of the newer and much smaller/faster black units now used.


As always, disconnect/check/reconnect all the connections...


cable --- cable modem --- wireless router --- { local network machines
