Thanks to Rory, Jason, and Andy for your replies.

I tried Rory's suggestion first and it worked a treat. I can now get learning OpenOffice's database as well as update my system.

Go into the Software CentreClick Edit -> Software SourcesChange the country to Main Server, or just anything other than what it's on.Close and allow it to update.
