[Nottingham] Advice on best tablet sub £150

For travel, I'd recommend a netbook. Far more robust than the tablets
I've seen so far, especially for surviving being crushed or just laid
on.

And my trusty Acer Aspire One is still going strong despite many
travels, a few drops and squashings, and is running Linpus still and
also MandrivaOne with KDE and XFCE destops. Works very well. Care was
taken for partitioning the SSD and for avoiding the
write-amplification effect.

And for VirginMedia email send... They're actually using Google for
their email services. You may well need to set Thunderbird to now use
a secure connection. Check on the Virgin website for the Thunderbird
settings needed.

Good luck,
Martin
