Hi Jason,

All you have to do is use a nice GUI like GPA or Kgpg - and not to get too hung up with
all the stuff that goes on. The real focus should be on your keys and importing other
people's keys.

If we look at the evolution of sending emails - most people never get to think that there
email is read by every one else - gnupg is like putting what you write in an envelope and as
long as some one has your public key they can open and read it.

If you digitally sign your emails - it's like a normal pen signature. I like to think that
it's me that's sending emails - and that people have the confidence to know that the email
came from me. A few years back people got a lot of emails from david at gbenet.com - but they
had no digital signature - and thus family and friends were much relieved to know that these
junk emails were not from me.

Many governments around the world ban the use of public key encryption - even the UK
government is trying to control it and in the USA. Imagine if it were only legal to send all
correspondence written on a postcard? Imagine the Royal Mail and ALL private mail
contractors had to have ALL mail written on a postcard!! Lawyers doctors business people
even yer Granny would be very very upset.

So if you think "I like the normalcy of envelopes" then you should at least make the effort
of getting your public and private keys - defend your privacy!! (Buy a gun) Ha! Ha! Ha!

David
