Been there, nuked the folders by renaming them to ORIGINAL-kde* so I can
bring them back at anytime if I need them but it makes no difference.

Done that but nothing was removed.

/var/log/exim4 Permission denied creating spool file so ownership and / or
permissions are screwed up for exim and maybe for /var generally.

apt-get -f install wants to install these

liblavfile-2.0-0, liblavjpeg-2.0-0, liblavplay-2.0-0,
libmjpegutils-2.0-0, libmpeg2encpp-2.0-0, libmplex2-2.0-0

but is unable to do so as everything is also reported as being in libmjpegtools.
