[Nottingham] Too much blue-white light at night... LEDs and Tech displays...

Folks,

This is a good reminder in the recent news for anyone who regularly
stares at rectangular screens of light:

E-books 'damage sleep and health,'
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-30574260

Note that "blue-white" light stimulates our brains to 'wake up' as
though it is sunrise. That's all well and good unless you then get your
circadian rhythms out of sync...

... And you get such 'sunrise stimulating' light from blue-white and
white LEDs. Also from computer displays...

("Warm-white" LEDs should look more like afternoon/evening light and so
not disrupt your sleep. Yet if you're a shift worker...!)

For myself, advanced tech is good fun but the good old fashioned paper
book is good fun that doesn't need batteries and can be read at any
time! :-P

Merry Christmas all,

Cheers,
Martin
