Well, there's letsencrypt. More than good enough for personal/project
use I'd say.
Need to get that sorted myself...

If memory serves Moxy Marlinspike proposed a web-of-trust kind of idea;
not sure what happened with that.

I guess the main this is to remember what most (ignoring extending
verification etc) https cert are; a method of encryption, not a proof of
identity.
Cue the slew of emails telling me I'm wrong....
