[Nottingham] Recovering from a Win 10 downgrade

OK, not GNU/Linux but I'm wondering if anyone has advice.

My parents' laptop got downgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 fairly recently
and it seems that the data for many non-MS applications got destroyed
in that process.

Unfortunately thing included their log-on details for JItsi amongst
other things.

Does the enforced install of Win 10 make any kind of back-up of the
old C:\Users folder? Or does it just assume that anything non-MS is
inconsequential and must be eliminated?
