Whatever Android phone you go for, make sure it's got at least 2GB RAM. Since
Android L came out (and now we have Android M), phones with only 1GB can run
with quite a sluggish UI. The moto g you mentioned fits the bill. There's
also a phone finder section on the GSMarena website, which lets you narrow
down a search for phones by moving sliders for screen size, RAM etc. I've
found that very useful in the past.
