Welcome again to Clive and Nigel.

Looks like we had some success with Nigel's PC with a new(er) graphics
card and various adapters. Why oh why does Marketing require 'upgrades'
when 2GBytes is more than enough for any freedoms self-respecting system?!


Thanks to Vadim for an excellent demo running multiple X11/Xorg display
servers for demonstrating the inherent local (and end-points)
vulnerability of the X display system to being monitored for
nefariousness by any locally run malware or otherwise any local
untrusted software... Shame that web-browser sandboxing/protection isn't
comprehensive!

Also for a very good demo of Qubes and why that system is such a good
idea...


Lots more was covered also. With the usual beers and additionally some
tea for our more refined member :-P


And the blinking lights timed out for another evening...


Next meeting is a foodie social Thursday 06/09/2018 meeting at The
Overdraft (Canning Circus) to then waltz over to the Dancing Dragon for
some fine Chinese dishes.
