Could be one of those Lenovo machines that use raid with one drive. In BIOS try to find something like storage/drive access method and change it to AHCI. You most probably will need to reinstall after that.If no such option is available try to find an option to disable RST.If that doesn’t work, the issue could be distro specific.—VMMake 1984 fiction again.---- On Mon, 02 Jan 2023 08:58:03 +0000 Godfrey Nix via Nottingham<nottingham at mailman.lug.org.uk> wrote ----Hi Vadim,Yes, I have, but it did not fix problem. Have tried minimal install, checked UEFI settings, but no success as yet. Not sure what is causing it. Loads ok if booted from memory USB stick, but not sure how to access the main memory /dev/sda (do we still call it disk drive when it is solid state and not a rotating disk?)GodfreyOn Sun, Jan 1, 2023 at 10:04 AM Vadim Mankevich via Nottingham <nottingham at mailman.lug.org.uk> wrote:Godfrey,Have you tried disabling secure boot?—VMMake 1984 fiction again.---- On Sun, 01 Jan 2023 09:19:34 +0000 Godfrey Nix via Nottingham<nottingham at mailman.lug.org.uk> wrote ----Hi there, long time since I posted anything to the group, but
looking for help. Given a new laptop, Lenovo Ideapad 1. Tried it out by
booting from USB stick with Ubuntu 22 and looks great so I installed it -
wiping out previous OS. Now when I start it up all I get is 'reboot
system' or some such message flash on screen and then it goes blank and
reboots - over and over until I power it off.I have tried looking for help online, but none of the four suggestions I have tried so far have worked.Any suggestions as to what to try next? Greetings to all,Godfrey
