Apart from buying a lot of dark cable what advantage is there in having a
24Mb office to online connection?

I'm monitoring 5 servers, plus ftp uploading and testing etc and listening
to music on a 2Mb BT connection here quite happily from my network without
getting anywhere near capacity.

If you are talking about running webservers directly on these connections
you probably need faster than that anyway, my servers are coloed on 100Mbs
unfiltered in Telehouse in London.
Plus a lot of service providers (Telewest certainly) don't allow webservers
on their lines as part of their Ts & Cs when you sign up.
