Don't know about MySQL - I'd never use it in production environment anyway ;)

But PHP4.3.2 is dated May 2003 and http://www.php.net/ChangeLog-4.php#4.4.8 
lists all the updates since, but while there have been a number of security 
updates they are never identified in the ChangeLog.

I do know what you mean about compatibility with legacy applications. There 
have been a few changes in the PHP4 sequence that have caused users problems 
but it WILL be necessary to address the legacy stuff some time this year.
