Hi Gavin (and the other people who have joined in the last day or two)

I try to organise meetings on a monthly basis - normally the 2nd Tuesday
of a month at 7:30pm. They alternate between social and technical.
Technical ones aim to have someone talking about $project/$technology
and don't strictly need to be about PHP (e.g. we had a talk about django
not so long ago, and our next one will be on MySQL). Social meetings
seem to involve going to a Toby Carvery, having a beer and eating as
much as possible.

Generally our meetings tend to be in Birmingham, Bromsgrove or Coventry.
I'd be happy to run a meeting further 'up north' but finding a suitable
venue for technical meetings is a pain. (Social meetings are easy as I
just need to find a pub!). Hence our meetings tend to be where there is
a company where list members work and are prepared to make available
conference-like facilities (projector, internet, power and not too much
background noise).



There's no 'formal joining process' for the group - aside from
participating in the mailing list and turning up to meetings every once
in a while :)
