Dave,
Apologies, I did amend our records to reflect previous conversations but
our system seems to have flipped it to receive example candidates. I
have ensured this will not happen again.
Regards,
Karl.

Karl,
You really don't learn do you... despite my more than plain
bordering on the terse responses on PHPWM you still continue to mail
me!!!
WE DO NOT NOW OR EVER WILL USE RECRUITMENT AGENCIES - IN
PARTICULAR COMPUTER FUTURES.
I can only assume you have harvested my email from the PHPWM
group list and ignored all previous complaints about unsolicited
contact.
Are other group members getting the same messages from Karl ?

I write quite a lot of complex javascript and have yet to notice the
difference between IE 6 and IE 8, every javascript bug/problem I have
had
with IE 6 still seems to be present on IE 8.

I have 3 real computers, one of which also has vmware to provide a
variety
of test setups, primarily because I do a lot of stuff with plugins which
needs extra testing. I've also started testing on mobile browsers, in my
case the one that comes with Symbian S60 5th edition (which is what I
have
on my phone).
If you are only doing straight web pages, then all you should need is IE
+ Firefox + W3C validator. I use the firefox HTML validator extension :
http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/
which is highly reccomended. If the pages validate, they should work on
everything, although the IE check is still necessary.

A shocking breach of privacy too. I would be very unhappy about my
details being circulated to a technical list in this way. Makes me think
twice about trusting them to an agency.

That's just my point Cam I have never at any point had any dealings
either personally as a candidate or professionally as a business owner
with computer futures, and working in small businesses it could make
things awkward to say the least if you CV was forwarded to you boss
because of hap-hazzard marketing from a recruitment agency.
Karl, here a suggestion rather than just change "my setting on your
records" hit the delete key!

Hmm... personally, if I were to ever write a bulk mailing / spam like
system, when someone asked for their details to be removed, I'd keep at
least some of their details around - just so they wouldn't accidentally
get re-subscribed (i.e. there needs to be some permanent way for the
system to know you wanted to opt-out).
I submitted my CV to computer futures years ago, when I was a new
graduate in the area; never had any work through them. As an employer
somehow they found our details, how is lost in the passing of time, and
every so often I get emails/phone calls. So far, they've not been of any
use, but I can't tell what the future will hold.
thanks,
David.
