TDM are seeking a Web Application Developer

Website: tdm.co
Location: Bewdley, Worcestershire and (soon) central Birmingham.
Salary: Flexible According to experience, skills, qualifications and terms agreed.

The Role

TDM Open Source Software Services are looking for a dynamic Web Application Developer. You will develop, test, maintain and support software applications in PHP/MySQL to meet customer requirements for new functionality. You will mainly be using Totara/Moodle/Mahara: providing core codeline, plugins and integrations with major open and closed source software applications. At TDM we develop applications on the LAMP stack, so Linux and Apache experience will be a job requirement. Strength with other programming languages (eg Python, Ruby or Java) is an advantage. Another advantage is proficiency with front-end technologies such as HTML5, JQuery, CSS, etc.

Role Requirements

You will have experience of developing software applications in a collaborative environment. To succeed in this role, you will have in-depth knowledge of web technologies and knowledge of the LAMP environment in particular. You should also have experience of formal development methodologies, preferably Agile.

Having the ability to work flexibly both with others and on your own initiative, you will have excellent communication skills in both technical and teaching environments. There may sometimes be a requirement for you to teach on courses in our academy and/or to assess academy learners' work.
