Anyone fancy a trip down south (& why is half the journey from
N to S Wales through England - what's the point of having
an assembly if they don't tackle transport infrastructure?)?

Reit, we've now got our venue sorted for our Global Jam session. We will
be at the Cardiff Central Library for the Saturday and Sunday of the
weekend of the 3rd - 4th of October. I have emailed the library and they
have said there are resources available for us as long as we don't get
too chaotic or make too much noise.

===Objectives===
Despite the theme of the jam being working on Ubuntu to improve or fix
what is already there, the main objective is the get together as a team,
get to know each other and have a great time together during the Jam! On
the technical side of things though, we will be working on triaging
bugs, testing Karmic's programs and hopefully, if we have a few Welsh
speakers attended who are up for it, we can use the Rosetta platform to
translate Ubuntu into the Welsh language!

===Prerequisites===
You may be required to have a Cardiff Library membership card to be able
to participate in this event, these can be obtained in the day and are
entirely free however you will need to bring some form of
identification, such as a driver's license, passport, utility bill etc.
If you are taking part in the Key-Signing party, the chances are that
you will be carrying some form of government-approved identification in
the first place.

   Another essential item will be a laptop or netbook of some form
(preferably one running Ubuntu, either Jaunty or the up-to-date version
of Karmic if you want to test), if you do not own one then speak to the
rest of the LoCo team and we might be able to get you one for the day (I
have a spare one for example).

===IRC Meeting===
We will be having a meeting in #ubuntu-cym on 23/09/09 at 19:00 Welsh
Mean Time :). To discuss attendance and if the people attending have any
previous experience in working on Ubuntu. If you are unable to make the
meeting and you are thinking of attending, could you please email back
saying that you are interested and if you have any previous experience
(or not) so I can start organising the layout for the Jam itself.

With kind regards,
