Which version of the drivers are you using?  I tried upgrading to the latest
(RPM) ones a few weeks ago and must have made some mistake as it didn't go
well (RPM said they were installed when they weren't; wouldn't let me put
the old ones back on, etc.  It would be great if they have finally fixed the
hibernation bug.  I know some people in my uni's LUG that have had this
problem on Debian laptops at least.

Apparently there is a major war about these drivers on the kernel mailing
list ("to GPL or not to GPL" kind of thing).
