Hello Plugsters,
It has become possible that PLUG could use a room in the Kirkham building of
the University to hold monthly meetings.
Traditionally meetings have been held in the Greyfriars pub and people have
commented on the difficulty of demonstrating Linux related things in this
environment.
Obviously a Uni room would have better facilities for demos etc and would
also have Internet connections and other things too (but not as many beers on
draught).
There's nothing to stop us going to the pub later.
BUT.
This would mean a slightly more formal approach to meetings because they
would not longer be held in a public place and there would need to be
slightly more structure to the meeting itself - presentations from people and
so forth. Advanced planning of certain things would be required.
SO.
Although I have used contacts within the Uni to arrange this, far be it from
me to inflict this form of meeting on PLUG members if the democratic
consensus is that the pub style meetings are perfectly suited to this group.
Please supply your comments.
Ta.
