First of all welcome back to a more civilised part of
the country ;o)
Why not check out www.cheeplinux.co.uk and look at
their cheep linux 8.0 it'll cost you a tenner and is
"similar" to red hat 8.0.
On the note of pricing where are the big distos going?
I had a call this morning to give me a price on a
server I am about to commission for a client. I was
asked which OS I wanted to be loaded on it naturally I
stated I wanted Red Hat. The price I was quoted was
£649 for a base server edition!!!
Whats going on surely this isn't in the spirit of
Linux and we're in danger being dragged down the
corporate big boy route. If the big distros insist on
pricing like this we may as well put our hands up sign
the surrender document and side with Microsoft (I
know, I know I'll go and wash my mouth out later)
Regards
