'ellow,
I don't konw if this is related to my membership to this list but I keep
getting some very strange e-mails (5 in about 2 days so far) that
profess to be people like "mailman-owner@mailman.lug.org.uk" and
"datpoland@uclan.ac.uk" but seem to be actually coming from
"evansrawmarsh@blueyonder.co.uk". They are all completely blank but
appear to have an attachment. The attachment is a windows .pif file
disguised as a MIDI file, all encoded in base64. Presumably this is an
exploit of the auto-preview `feature' of Outlook Express.
As far as I'm aware, none of the above are in my address book and I am
using Linux full time so I very much hope its not originating from me -
it doesn't look as if I'm sending random stuff to the list. I hope I am
not!
You can probably tell I am not too familiar with e-mail. I've tried to
get as much as I can understand (as described above) out of the
headers. I was wondering if any of you have recieved these e-mails - if
so at least I know where they may be originating from.
thanks, bye just now,
