OK so i've uninstalled Mandrake 9.2. I've installed Redhat 9 and it 
works perfectly.  Everything installed really well in about 20 minutes. 
It found all of my hardware, scanner, printer, soundcard, modem and 
video card.  Connected to the net like a pro.  I'm still at a total loss 
as to what happend  with the Mandrake installation.  I must admit to 
being really disappointed with it.  I had read such great things about 
it.  Oh well I guess that's life. Cost me £6.49 !!!! LOL
