[Rnb] XBOX as a network storage device

I am looking into the possibility of using an xbox as network storage device.

Is that possible when I install XMBC?

Has anyone got a xbox for sale to do this project for my disabled down
in exmouth. She needs to store all her music on , and also store her
essays for uni on. Will Windows XP(her student supplied laptop,Windows
has to stay on it ) & Ubuntu be able to map/mount to the xbox hard
drive?

They seem to be around £40-£50 on ebay second hand.
