Yes, I find that a little alien, there seems to be many places to
discuss things (and monitor for new events) on this new site which
don't integrate too well.

Sounds quite time-consuming when my email inbox is always just there
either on the laptop, desktop or pushed to the iPhone waiting for two
minutes of my time.

I'd planned to attend some of the previous meetings in 2008 and 2009,
sadly foreign work and study for my RedHat Certified Technican exams
kept me away.

Unfortunately prior commitments on Tuesdays limit my ability to attend
in person, but I'd always hoped that maybe my skills could have been
of help to someone by email, although there don't seem to have been
many server or RedHat oriented queries as yet.

I didn't realise phyiscal attendance was compulsory, I thought remote
membership was acceptable, the front page of rnblug.org.uk does (and
always has as far as I remember) after all state:

"
Membership is free - all you need to do is either sign up to mailing
list, and occassionally contribute (or start) a discussion...
Alternatively, just turn up to a meeting
"
