Hi All,

Al posted a message the other week about securely wiping hard drives and

Also you might find the following data recovery tools very useful for
legitimate purposes:

PhotoRec gives the appearance that it will only recover photos (i.e.
graphical images) but if you read through the file formats it can actually
recover a whole lot more. Both tools are GNU GPL and available on Knoppix
disks (and probably other CD bootable distros) should your PC be totally
kaput.
