hi

can anyone help me update php?

i own a cobalt raq550 (i've recently gone into hosting) which runs (i think)
redhat7.2 and came with php v4.0.6 installed.  i need a php version of
atleast 4.1.x for some scripting i want to do. i was advised that v4.1.2
would be a good bet, however when i try to install, it fails due to numerous
depandancy problems (i can list if you like)

i'm still a newbie when it comes to installing at the command prompt and am
completely stuck when things dont go ideally.  can anyone give any
advice/pointers etc?

if you'd like more info, just ask, you might need to tell me how to get the
info tho ;) (like exact version/build etc i'm actually running)
