Hello Owen,

I may well be out of date now. It used to be:

3270-common Common files for IBM 3270 emulators
acroread Adobe Acrobat Reader: Portable Document Format file viewer
giflib-bin programs to convert GIF images
giflib3g shared library for GIF images (runtime lib)
gimp1.2-*nonfree* GIF support for the GNU Image Manipulation Program
lha lzh archiver
unarj arj unarchive utility
x3270 X11 program for telnet sessions to IBM mainframes.

Maybe more? I don't have a chance to dig back for the info just
at the moment.

but trawling around it seems possible that they changed with v3.3
http://mm.gnu.org.in/pipermail/fsf-friends/2004-January/001614.html

I'll try and download and check when I have a moment (not in the
next couple of days at least :^)

Indeed, and the creation of Knoppix has been a great service to
Free Software advocates. Nevertheless, it is based upon Debian,
so it is easy to see how some non-Free software could have crept
in there :-/

If we can find more than one bootable distro of GNU/Linux with
entirely Free Software we can just choose the best, or take more
than one at the /soi-disant/ infopoint.
I really don't mind, as long as it helps us get our message across
to all these people who for some mysterious reason think that
Free Software won't do the job for them (perhaps they've been
listening to ESR =^)

btw a vote on the knoppix.net fora
http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2393&highlight=
showed 70 per cent of respondents in _favour_ of including
non-free software :-(

btw2 there are certainly non-free ``adaptations'' of knoppix, but that
is not what I was referring too:
