Sketchy Job outline :

Location : I work from Melton Mowbray, not that that is really
 relevant. Client / Customer is one of the largest corporations in
 Europe with facilities in most European countries and a good
 spattering in South America. Working from home is not a problem.

Simplistically the job requires the development of :

"A high volume interface to order intake and processing system to
 create cost models from dynamically user defined sets of rules."

Language ANSI C (strict) , could be persuaded for C++ BUT a C#
 version may also be required later.

European travel will almost certainly be required as the first
implementation will be in Italy. ( Italy, Spain, France and
Belgium)  Knowledge of French would be a benefit but NOT essential.

Development platform Linux, target environment(s) yet to be decided.

Length of initial contract unknown at this stage, at least 4 months.
 I have yet to specify the architecture let alone a programming
 spec. Given our heavy workload it is probable that the contractors
 will also be involved in the design process.

The requirement is probably for 2 contractors. Graduate
 professionals with a proven track record in C and in systems and
 computing in
general.  Specific knowledge of costing systems not required.
 Experience in manufacturing systems would probably be useful.

On the more general front I am interested in creating relationships
 with professionals who would like occasional work without being
 committed to a full time contract.
