[SC.LUG] Password Scam

You may be aware of this, but recently I have being receiving e-mails
from teh wiki and JISCMAIL that I had requested a change of password.
Teh IP address that reportedly made the request was not mine. This is
obviously a scam that assumes that I will, unwittingly just
automatically send a response.

Text of one e-mail:

Someone (probably you, from IP address 24.171.8.231)
requested that we send you a new Wikipedia login password for
en.wikipedia.org.
The password for user "*YourUserName*" is now "DtK6UJM".
You should log in and change your password now.

If someone else made this request or if you have remembered your
password and you no longer wish to change it, you may ignore this
message and continue using your old password.

(Obviously change *YourUserName* for your user name!)

If you do actually change your password to the one mentioned, you've
just handed over that account to the scammer.

Not seen this one before.

Jason.
